“I was in Chile, and I passed through 10 more countries and arrived in Mexico. After Mexico, I crossed the border and came here. Catholic Charities helped me a lot, like when I got here, I didn’t have anything. I had no money. I had nothing, but you helped me sign up for food stamps and to go to the hospital. The people here are very good. Since I was little, I was in Catholic school. The Church is very good. The people have big hearts. They help people who don’t have a lot. It is very good. I like the things Catholic Charities does. I love the way you do things, but when you help a person who doesn’t have things, it’s very good. God says they have to help people who are in need. It has to be given, it has to be supplied.” Consolee came to the United States four months ago with her daughter and is a client of Catholic Charities of Central Florida’s Family Stability Program.
